Arena Tour Stage Design

[Stage] 3D Modeling Creative Direction Art Direction Stage Design Show Concept

A fundamental part of our rebranding of German pop artist Mark Forster was his 2024 Arena Tour. As the almost musical-like concert itself conceptually mimicked a late-night show, large parts of the stage visually played into that idea. As additional elements, the bottom storey of the stage included a glass "backstage room" and an "ADHD" LED screen, both hosting content completely unrelated to the actual show happening outside.

Next to conceptualizing the actual show concept with the artist, we designed the stage and created + directed all show visuals. In line with the show concept, all "helping hands" on stage were styled in a full Dickies work suit uniform.

The stage from high up during the show: band on the upper level, a performer on the lower platform and two costumed mascots beside him.
The stage in blue-white light seen from within the crowd, fans raising arms and phones.

In case the TV-show-like concept of the concert wasn’t gripping enough for the countless newly acquired, attention-span-lacking Gen-Z Fans, we added 2 additional sections to the stage…

Four performers under two crossing spotlights at the front of the stage, seen from the middle of the crowd.

The late-night set on stage: the artist sits at the wooden host desk with a microphone, filmed by a TV camera operator, a night skyline behind him.

1. A backstage room ON STAGE - hosting movie nights, Oktoberfest Dinner, livestreamed parties & more DURING the concert

In Munich, we held a classic Octoberfest feast in the glass room on stage, hosting celebrity guests such as Daniel Abt, Aditotoro as well as the current Bachelor (for some reason)

German livestreamer PapaPlatte was invited to throw a party inside the glass backstage room on stage, which he livestreamed to 50.000+ viewers.

Support acts and anyone with access to the “regular” backstage could enter the room on stage and do whatever they wanted, including playing Minecraft on a PS3 we sourced from our private console collection and never saw again after tour :(

2. An “ADHD screen” playing Subway Surfer Gameplay, Soap Cutting Videos and Instagram Reels for the entire live show

The production required 14 trucks and 80+ people working on each tour stop.

In addition to the heavily engaging LED visuals we created, the general tour concept was destined for making waves on social media, which it very successfully accomplished - with individual organic, user-created videos of the show amassing up to 150.000 likes.
